The theme for our piano in Maple Ridge is ‘compassion’.  The theme was suggested as a means of raising awareness about the issue of homelessness and the need to respond to this crisis with compassion. The design was developed under the guidance of artist Ilse Philips who is based out of Vicuna Art Studio in Maple Ridge.

The colour of pink was specifically chosen for this instrument as it is the colour of Anti-Bullying. The Vicuna artists were joined by the District of Maple Ridge’s Artist in Resident Robbie Smith who added some script and font to help highlight the theme of ‘Compassion’.
